A crop factor of 1.6x – often talked about with APS-C cameras – can be explained like this: If you are using a 50mm lens on an APS-C camera and you want to shoot the same scene with the same field-of-view with a full-frame camera you need a focal length of 50 x 1.6, which is 80mm. The maths….

Full Frame vs Crop Sensor? - posted in Beginning Deep Sky Imaging: I have a Canon 6D and a Canon T5. One is full frame the other a cropped sensor. If I am shooting a small subject say a galaxy for example, is the crop sensor going to be an advantage over the 6D?
For example, if you are looking for similar framing that a 50mm lens (the classic "normal" lens) provides on a full-frame (1.0x crop factor) SLR body, you probably want a 35mm lens on your 1.6x FOVCF body. 35mm x 1.6 = similar framing to a 56mm lens on a full-frame camera body.

Canon 6D. The Canon 6D is another classic, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” outdoor photographer’s dream camera, being one of the lightest full-frame DSLR bodies around, and delivering great image quality from its 20-megapixel sensor that is, in fact, slightly better than the “mk2” successor.
I want to buy a Full frame Canon EF 75-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 USM III Telephoto Zoom Lens. My camera is a Canon 800D which has a crop sensor. I'm trying to figure out what the equivalent effect putting that full frame lens on crop sensor camera would produce.
