2018 Mazda cx-5. Dec 22, 2018. #1. Yesterday, as i was leaving my hose to drive 400 miles to my parents, my radio on my 5 month cx5 just died. I can no longer select the entertainment option of my CMU. When i go into settings and try to change the bass or treble, or just reverts back to default. The volume knob no longer shows volume level. Weird thing was it showed the Mazda logo when I shut the engine down after arrive in a parking lot. Turned it back on real quick and it wouldnā€™t show anything. Edit: no button combos are working but if I long press the home button it will make the beep noise (indicating switch from CarPlay to CONNECT) even if the cable is not connected. The best solution Iā€™ve found is to turn off (not just mute) by holding down the volume control for a few seconds until the screen goes black. This will be retained upon next start up. It has (at random) disabled blindspot monitoring, stopped and played music repeatedly, dimmed the screen, go to the navigation screen, disconnect my bluetooth, to name a few. Try to reset the system. Hold mute, nav and back buttons all at same time for at least 10 seconds. I'd start with pulling the negative off your battery for a couple minutes, that'd likely reset things.
